Atins - Lençóis National Park
Downwind means covering vast distances traveling only by kite with the power of the wind. The north-east of Brazil is notorious for being the biggest downwind route in the world, covering up to 1.800 kilometers. The route between Atins and the Lençoís National Park is one of the last sections and it is truly special. We leave Atins when the tide conditions are just right and head out to the open sea, making our way through butter flat lagoons that form on the beach, next to clean and sometimes truly big waves. It is an epic playground that stretches for about 18 kilometers before we land the kites on the beach, jump on the support car, and head over to a huge freshwater lagoon. Kiting between the dunes of the National Park is an out-of-this-world experience and when the setting sun starts coloring the whole scene in red you will bow to the beauty of nature you found here. From here we either pass by a Native Restaurant with exquisite cuisine or head straight back to Atins.

This is for the ones wanting to skip the Downwind and maximize their time kiting in one of the lagoons of the Lençoís Maranhenses. The car holds room for up to 6 people with gear and takes you through the National Park to a lagoon, where you can spend all the time you want Kiting before heading back to Atins, optionally stopping at a local restaurant on the way.
